Welcome!

I love painting and drawing portraits...but NONE of the originals are for sale. I feel that every portrait belongs to the person I drew, so I give the originals away - usually at a concert or wherever I get the chance to meet the band. The story behind how I got started...(more)

Prints:

I sometimes make prints available in limited editions, hand-signed by me. I donate 100% of the profits to the musician's favorite humanitarian cause of choice. It's my way of honoring the musician and giving something back. I'm fairly certain they don't need the money, but most have a cause they believe in supporting. I'm all for that, and I'll help in any way I can.

My Philosophy:

I'm naïve enough to believe that each one of us can make this world a better place. We all have gifts to give and share. Well, art is my way.

Music has inspired me throughout my life. In some of the darkest moments, a lyric or a song will lift your heart, give you hope, make the unbearable bearable. Musicians have the power to influence a generation, to be role models for all of us. So it has always been, from Woodstock to Warped Tour.

This quote by Michael Shrieve (drummer for Santana, 1969) says it more eloquently than I can: "Music prompts us to respond with open-heartedness instead of judgment. It ushers us to a higher place from where we can see beyond distractions, to what is true and good and listening. If musicians accept this responsibility, they can change the world..."

I started drawing this portrait series in early 2008, and add to it regularly. I've since expanded to paintings, and now experimenting in mixed media portraiture. The adventure goes on!
